Overview
Hinai Search is a browser extension designed to help healthcare staff quickly search and access patient information within the Hinai hospital system (hinai.igmh.gov.mv).
Data Handling
Data Stored Locally
All of the following data is stored exclusively on your computer using Chrome’s local storage. None of it is sent to external servers.
- Patient Search Cache: Bed/ward data is cached on your device for up to 15 minutes to speed up searches.
- Recent Patients: Up to 8 recently opened patients are stored locally for quick re-access.
- User Preferences: Settings such as dark mode, last selected tab, and sort order are stored locally.
Data Not Collected
- We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising.
Third-Party Access
The extension communicates only with:
- hinai.igmh.gov.mv: The Hinai hospital system. Requests use your existing session and credentials via your browser.
No other external services receive data from this extension.
Permissions
- activeTab: To open patient charts in the current tab when you click a result.
- storage: To store cache and preferences locally on your device.
- host_permissions (hinai.igmh.gov.mv): To fetch patient data from the Hinai system.
Your Responsibility
As a medical professional, you are responsible for:
- Using the extension only in line with your organization’s (IGMH) policies.
- Protecting your Hinai login credentials.
- Logging out or locking your workstation when you leave it.
Changes
If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be reflected in new versions of the extension.
